I don't know about you, but I love love love it when the sun shines. I guess it is mostly because of the fact that I am a So Cal girl transplanted to Western Washington and go through some serious withdrawal several months out of the year. I do have to admit, after 7 years, I have learned to love the beauty this state has to offer which makes the sacrifice much more worth it.
I mean how can you not love this?
But this week, like most of the country, we have been in the grips of a heatwave. Most people have been absolutely miserable dealing with near 90 degree weather when the usual forecast is somewhere in the 70's. I however have been so excited. The only issue has been that we have no AC. I mean it just isn't necessary here. OK well it is not usually necessary here.
As luck would have it though, one of my good friends just moved into a home with a pool a little over a month ago. So you know I have all but moved in! In exchange for my 24 hour pool pass I have been whipping up a few tasty treats for her. Over the last few days we have nibbled on...
BBQ chicken (I really need a better picture)
And of course no great pool party is never complete without a little libation so I whipped up a pitcher (or three) of this refreshing Raspberry Lemonade.
It was a relaxing week of good food, good drinks, and good people, but now I need to get my rear in gear and get some work done!! I am super excited to give you a quick peek of what will be coming up on the blog very soon.
Next Monday is another Secret Recipe Club post. I always love those!
I will be posting a great chicken recipe that I used a fabulous new product from Purdy Organics, their Apple Cider Vinegar with Garlic and Rosemary.
Also coming up soon will be some great product reviews for CookingPlanIt and T Fal, as well as an amazing giveaway opportunity for my wonderful readers! Trust me you will not want to miss it!!
OK enough about me, let's talk about a few of the great things I found on Pintrest from other bloggers this week.
I have been wanting to work with fresh peaches so this post from Cookin' Canuck on How to Peel Peaches is going to come in uber helpful.
I have been bitten by the DIY bug so this tutorial for how to make Homemade Mustard really made me happy.
I used to go to the fair every year when I lived in San Diego but have yet to go to one here in Washington, so I of course have missed out on some of my favorite "fair food" but now that I found this recipe for Homemade Funnel Cakes from Grandbaby Cakes I will never have to miss out again.
I would love to hear your ideas about the blog sooooooo please make sure to leave me a comment and let me know what you would like to see.
