Hi everyone and Happy Friday. Why the birthday cake? Well, Tuesday was my birthday, or as I like to say, the anniversary of my 29th birthday! I had a wonderful day. My kids and some friend all joined up at my girlfriends house. She is the one with the pool so that is where we have all been pretty much non stop this summer. We are lucky if we get a month of summer like weather here in Western Washington, but this year has been amazing!! We have had about 2 months of weather in the 80's.....heaven!! So we have all but moved in to my friends house. We laugh that she needs to put a box for people to drop money in for the pool fund.
I have also been doing a bit of wildlife watching around my house and yard. With the temps so nice it seems to have brought all of the critters out. I am seeing deer and other animals on a daily basis. But my favorite is the squirrels in my back yard. I can't tell you how many times I have been sitting at my desk and catch movement out of the corner of my eye, only to look over and see a little squirrel outside my sliding glass door looking back at me!

He just needed a little drink.
Other than animal watching, and partying it up, I have been cooking up a storm. Last night I made my Big Pig Burgers and ooohhhhhh boy did they come out even better than I planned!! My kids all went crazy over them. My son sent out a mass text with a picture of the burger and informed me that I put the local burger shop to shame. Aaawwww how sweet is that?
I have also been working on a few new recipes but I will keep them hush hush for now, top secret stuff ya know?
We went out for some nibbles and a few beers the other night, I told you it was my birthday, I have just celebrated all week that is all.
