Friday Flashback 10/11/13

Happy Friday to you all!

Can you believe how fast this month is going? Someone said "Oh my gosh, there are only 75 days until Christmas!". I said, "Hold up, can I just focus on Halloween for right now?".

Sheesh, I am so behind! I don't even want to think beyond this month yet!

Seriously though, sometimes it bugs me that people want to hurry things up. The stores seem to get their Christmas decor up earlier and earlier.

I just want to take things

one

step

at

a

time!

Maybe that is a sign of getting old. We don't want to rush.......ANYTHING!!

I haven't even put up my Halloween decorations yet.

When the kids moved last year I just didn't feel like decorating. Empty nest and all of that.

This year I really want to. But it has been raining like crazy here so I have been waiting. No more waiting! The decorations are going up this weekend, rain or shine!!

Since I don't have any decorations up yet to take pictures of, and this is Friday Flashback, I decided to put together a collage of past decorations. I love decorating! Plus I have a ton of ideas from Pintrest to try!!

I have both scary decorations and cute decorations, I am not sure which ones I will use this year. I may just have to toss a coin. What do you think I should do? Seriously, I would love some help, I am awful at making decisions!!

*sigh*

Let's check out what has been going on here on the blog before I can't decide what more to write.....

It has been a busy busy week on the blog!!

Let's check out a few of my faves this past week on Pintrest.
Mummy Cookies from Frugal Antics from a Harried Homemaker
Chicken & Biscuit Pot Pie Casserole from The Messy Baker
Apple Toffee Cheese Danish from The Lady Behind the Curtain
Cranberry and Pecan Turkey Panini with Bacon Spread from Home Cooking Memories
Slow Cooker Lasagna Soup from Cravings of a Lunatic

Not tired of seeing what I have been up to this week? Check out my Instagram page!

Have an awesome weekend everyone!!

P.s. How do you like the new blog set up?

  1. I am with you on everyone wanting to hurry things up. I want to keep them in perspective. They have started that Christmas in July thing and I don't much like it.... but sometimes you gotta go with the flow.

  2. Personally I think you should put up both scary and cute decorations especially if you have both on hand. And don't get me started on rushing the seasons------------

  3. We have a big spider web like that on the front window right now and at the peak sunlight times it makes shadows on several of our interior walls of big webs. It's really cool. :)

  5. I really want to try that grilled fish taco. As for decorations for halloween, I haven't started as yet. My neighbors have though and quite a few other houses in the neighborhood. I'm going to have to go around taking photos for some ideas. :)

  10. You shouldn't choose between scary or cute decorations. Use them all! Maybe just separate them! I'm Halloween-obsessed so I think more is better! :) I like the new blog design. Also the sausage and sweet potato soup looks amaze!

  13. Last week I was in Walmart and saw the Christmas decorations were up and I remember thinking please let us get Halloween over with. I want to savor the holidays with my kids and seems like we are rushing. I too have not put up my Halloween decorations yet.

  14. Those pumpkins are AWESOME. The one with the skull and crossbones is my favorite. They all look great, though!

  15. I have never decorated for Halloween (we don't do that in Germany), but you just gave me some inspiration for this year :) And Bobby, your soup looks so heartwarming and comforting! Just pinned it for making it next week!

  16. Halloween is getting bigger every year. We have people in the neighborhood already setting up displays and lights. I feel pretty inadequate because I'm only willing to do pumpkins! Maybe when I retire someday! I need to try that soup you have there.

  17. I can't believe that Christmas is right around the corner either. It's amazing how quickly the holidays always creep up upon us. So much preparation goes into getting ready for them and then they pass by in the blink of an eye.
