Friday Flashback 11/1/13

Happy November everyone!

Now Halloween is over, the kids are still buzzing from their sugar high, and you have a houseful of spooky decorations to take down and replace with Fall/Thanksgiving decorations.

Our thoughts start turning toward Christmas as well.

This is the time of year when my ADD goes wild!!

I am planning Thanksgiving dishes, all the while making a Christmas shopping list and deciding what baking I want to do. I even begin planning my Christmas meal.

My desk is a mess with note pads and post it notes. How I keep anything straight is beyond me!!

It is funny though, it seems that the most stressful time of the year is my favorite time of year.

Things I love about this time of year:
  • Fires in the fireplace
  • hot cider
  • busy family gatherings
  • being covered in flour in my kitchen
  • the smell or pumpkin and spices
  • the smell of pine trees and peppermint.
  • Christmas shopping (yes you heard me right)
  • helping the local charities
  • watching the people I love opening gifts from me and seeing the smiles on their faces.

No matter how stressed out I get

I just can't help but smile.

Maybe I need medication???

Oh well, we can debate that at a later date.

I am curious, what is your favorite part of the upcoming holiday season?

OK,  let's recap what happened in my end of the blogosphere.

That was a lot of food! We loved it, I sure hope you did too.

Oh, did you notice my cool new toy? Now you can pin any picture from my blog. Just let your mouse hover over the photo and BING a Pinrest button pops up and away you go!!

Pretty cool right?

Ya well, we have already established that I am easily amused.

Annnnnnnnnnnd speaking of Pintrest....WOW I have done a TON of pinning this week. That is what happens when you are sick. I spent a few days on my sofa with tea, Kleenex, and my lap top.

I have so many DIY pins now I could stay busy for the next year if I wanted to.

Oh and kitchens. I have decided I need at least 4!!

Let me share a few of my latest food pins with you though....

Greek Yogurt Cheesecake Dip Trio from Cupcakes and Kale Chips
Pasta and Turkey Sausage Bake from Food Done Light
Grandma Gennaco's Beef Braciole from A Family Feast.

Want to check out everything I have been pinning? Feel free to stalk me follow my Pintrest

That's all for this week my darlings! I will be back on Sunday with some yummy Chicken Biryani for a Mediterranean #SundaySupper. So don't miss out!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Much foodie <3

  1. This is my favorite time of year, too. One of my favorite things about the cold weather coming in is the smell of chimney smoke - there is nothing like it & whenever I smell it, I think of cozy winter afternoons :)

  2. Since I can't have summer all year long... I guess fall would be my second favorite season. I do love getting together with friends and family.
That stuffed pumpkin looks tasty. I love about anything pumpkin. In fact I am going to cook one today.

  6. Ugh, this time of year is definitely not a favorite for me - not even close. The only thing I enjoy is Christmas morning and watching my youngest son's face light up as he still believes in Santa.

  8. I enjoy this time of year because I seem to get more time with my kids and husband doing more cuddling and relaxing activities together. It's not as hectic for me as spring and summer months are.

  9. What I like best about this time of year is first and foremost--the cooler weather 2nd-looking at the tapestry created by nature (trees changing color) and last but not least the feeling that most everyone is friendlier! What I stay away from at this time of year------the STORES!!!!

    1. Yes, the stores can make you a bit sour. I stay away from Black Friday for sure!!!
