Taking My H2O to Go with the New Brita Water Bottles

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Brita, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #BritaOnTheGo http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

Get up, get moving, and take Brita with you!

This past January I made the resolution to get back in shape this year, and up until now it still wasn't happening. I can always come up with excuses not to work out. I have too much work to do being the big one but another one that I have used, on more than one occasion, is that I don't like our water and hate buying bottled water. I mean if you could see and/or taste my tap water? Bleck!! And buying bottled water? Hellooo, trying to save the planet over here and all that good stuff. So that was that, and my resolution was pushed to the back burner.

But from the back of my mind that little voice was whispering, "Bobbi, quit making excuses and get your rear in gear woman!" Why do the voices in my head have to be so dang annoying??

Anywho, It has been a warm spring here in Western Washington, and this summer is supposed to be one of the hottest, and driest, in a long time. A little while back I started dealing with a lot of foot and leg cramping, especially at night, and learned that dehydration can cause muscle cramps. I had no idea. All I knew was the "water" consume comes in the form of coffee, which is actually a diuretic, so  I was totally defeating the whole purpose of drinking more fluids.

So what else? Juice has high amounts of sugar, defeating my weight loss goal.

And diet soda? Oh don't even get me started on that!!

Then I got this new Brita sport water bottle with the built in filter in the hardware department of my local Walmart. I love that it is light weight and BPA free. It was the perfect solution to my drinking water issue. I popped it open as soon as I bought it and filled it up in the drinking fountain (which is huge if you knew my feelings on public fountains!) so I would have water for the ride home. Aaahhh heaven! Nothing but refreshing, clean, clear, water.

Being excited by my new find, I decided, that very next day, to start my journey to get back into shape. So I grabbed my sport bottle and headed out the door to check out the walking trail in town. I know so many people that walk and bike it, However the one previous time I tried it I totally wimped out when I saw the big hills (I am talking big here people), and ended up using my issue with drinking from public water fountains as my major reason for the "no go".

As you can see, there is quite a LOT of trail here, and without the Brita filtered sports bottle I would have to rely on public drinking fountains when I needed to re-hydrate. NOT!

Admit it, you aren't thrilled with that whole drinking fountain idea either, are you?

My pup even seemed excited to hit the trail, and she also loved the fact that she got to drink Mom's filtered water when she got thirsty. Dogs want clean water too right? Or maybe she is just spoiled.

I can tell you that my water bottle came in quite handy when I hit these hills. There is one that is a 12% grade and my buns were on fire!! I think I drank almost the entire bottle of water after that one!
Thanks goodness there was a water fountain right at the top.

WOW I never thought I would hear those words come out of my mouth!!

I filled back up, and away I went.

Back to my car. *whew* I was tired!

The next day was rainy so I hit the treadmill with my water bottle ready to go. It fit perfectly in the little "cubby" on the side.

I blasted some 80's tunes (yes I am dating myself here) and walked, walked, walked my little feet off.

Then I decided I need to branch out from just walking, so I did my Bollywood Cardio for the first time, and ummmm WOWZERS! It was a definite workout, and also made me feel like the most uncoordinated person in the world. As a girl that prides herself in having pretty good sense of rhythm, and loves to dance, I was shocked by how much I felt like a fish out of water. I was flippin, floppin, jumpin', and shakin'.

Good gracious it was not a pretty sight. I am pretty sure my dog is still laughing at me!

But hey, at least I did it right?

With each and every activity I was reminded of how much I love my new Brita sport bottle.
  • It is light weight.
  • The soft sides make it easy to grip/squeeze.
  • It is BPA free.
  • It saves me money because I don't have to buy disposable water bottles anymore.
  • It is earth friendly since there is no trash!
A bonus! After seeing me with my water bottle glued to my side, Kevin asked me to go buy him one for work. So off I went to Walmart to pick another one up.

Now he is feeling better, and says he has more energy, because he is getting enough water everyday. And since I have been making sure to stay hydrated, I feel healthier (no more cramps), I have more energy, and I am not as hungry I was.

We even went for a hike together last weekend!

Look at us being all healthy an stuff!

Thanks to Brita we are no longer prisoners to our horrible tap water, or over priced bottles!! Yay!
