10 Simple Kitchen Hacks to Make Life Easier

Tracking Pixel
10 Simple Kitchen Hacks to Make Life Easier from www.bobbiskozykitchen.com

This post is sponsored by the awesome peeps at Sears Home Appliances and Services . The hacks are all ones I use, or have used, in my own kitchen

When my kids were growing up I never knew how many of their friends would be in my house at any given time. My daughter's friends loved hanging out at our house, and my son was on the wrestling and football teams so, at any given time, I could have a whole sports team worth of boys rambling through my kitchen (insert emoji of a Mom pulling her hair out here)!

Creamy Pumpkin Alfredo with Roasted Garlic and Sage

Creamy Pumpkin Alfredo with Roasted Garlic and Sage from www.bobbiskozykitchen.com

My neck of the woods, the Pacific Northwest, is sure taking this whole "fall" thing pretty seriously. It has been cold, and windy, and rainy

The wind was blowing so hard yesterday I kept waiting for the house to lift up and drop my in the middle of Oz!!

Those amazing summer days we had are a distant memory. We are keeping a fire burning around the clock to keep the house about 60 degrees!! Today is is in the 40's!  I heard the "S" word mentioned on the news today (snow). YIKES!!

Am I whining too much? OK, I will stop.

Creamy Pumpkin Alfredo with Roasted Garlic and Sage from www.bobbiskozykitchen.com

But really, the main reason I am complaining about the weather is because I wanted to set the scene for this fantabulous recipe.

You see, when the temps drop my body starts chanting.....carbs....carbs.....carbs.

It can be quite annoying really, but who am I to say no? Sooooo my first thought is always pasta.

I know that a big bowl of soup is great on a cold, blustery day. But I am here to tell you that soup has nothing on a plate piled high with creamy cheesy pasta!

Right?

Of course right!

Creamy Pumpkin Alfredo with Roasted Garlic and Sage from www.bobbiskozykitchen.com

Now, y'all know I loves me some pumpkin too. I have never hidden that fact. But, if I am totally honest with you, I think I like it more in savory dishes VS sweet ones. If you look back through the blog you will find things like Pumpkin Chili, Creamy Chipotle Pumpkin Soup, Pumpkin BBQ Sauce (my daughters fave), Sausage Stuffed Pumpkin, 3 Cheese Pumpkin Mac and Cheese, Twice Baked Pumpkin Stuffed Sweet Potatoes, and Pumpkin Alfredo with Roasted Garlic and Mushrooms, which is the Daddy to this recipe.

I loved my Pumpkin Alfredo, but then I saw this recipe for Pumpkin Goat Cheese Fettuccini with Crispy Fried Sage on Closet Cooking. It sounded amazeballs!!

I seriously  goat cheese.

Like, I could eat it every day forever, love it.

So I broke out my old recipe, added some goat cheese, and sage, and WALA this is what appeared on our plates.

Doesn't that just look awesome?

I have to admit,

I ate a HUGE bowl of this

Then fell into a food coma on the couch.

Ahhhhhhh pasta!!!

Buffalo Chicken aka Chicken Crack Dip

Buffalo Chicken aka Chicken Crack Dip from www.bobbiskozykitchen.com

Hey you guyssssssssssssssssssssss (I always think of the Goonies when I say that.....please tell me you know that movie!!)

Guess what?

My guy is still in the NASCAR chase

Did I just lose you there? Does anyone else watch NASCAR?

I know y'all know that I am a HUGE football fan, woot woot GO HAWKS

But I love my NASCAR just as much! I pretty much grew up, at least through my teenage years, at race tracks. Dirt track, asphalt, I love it all. The roar of the engines sends chills down my spine every time. There is nothing quite like being right there in the middle of the action.

Unfortunately I have only been able to go to a handful of NASCAR races  So I have to settle for screaming at watching the races on TV. And just like with football games, we always have a spread of nibbles and munchies on the table so we can feed our faces and watch the race at the same time.

Multitasking at it's finest here folks!

But most of the time I want to just whip something easy up so I can sit down and feed my face as quickly as possible. That is when I turn to recipes like Chipotle Black Bean DipSalsa Fresca (Restaurant Style Salsa), Bavarian Party DipChili con QuesoHot Reuben DipRanch Veggie Pizza, Mini Baked Ham and Cheese Sliders, or this Chicken "Crack" Dip.

The reason this is called "crack" dip is because you will not be able to stop eating it! I am not joking here peeps, this stuff is crazy!!

The first time I made it I was just making some for Kevin and I, so I made a small batch thinking that would last us through an entire game.

HA!

Not even close!!

I think it was gone in something like 0.2 seconds flat!

Then Kevin looks at me.

You made more right?

Oops!!

Needless to say I make a bigger batch every time I make it now.

This recipe should feed 4, at least. But if your are like Kevin and I, you might want to double it so you can eat as much as possible!!
