20 of My Must Have Kitchen Tools

20 of My Must Have Kitchen Tools and Gadgets. Perfect for Mother's Day gift for the foodie Mom in your life

With Mother's Day just over the horizon, and my kids asking me what I want, I thought about everything that I have. It is funny, but some of my favorite gifts, and gadgets, and very inexpensive, but I can't live without them.

If you dig into my kitchen, these are a few of the tools that I use on almost a daily basis. So if you are looking for a last minute gift for the Mom in your life (or for yourself), these are a few that I would wholeheartedly recommend!

30-Inch Pro Series Reversible Cutting Board
A nice roomy cutting board is a HUGE must for me. I can't stand feeling cramped and crowded when I am prepping for a meal.

Silicone Cutting Board
Just as important as having my fave wooden cutting board, a great silicone board for meats is a must have. I love this one because it is a great size, sturdy, and washes well.

OXO Good Grips Wooden Spoon Set
I love, love, LOVE using wooden spoons. I don't think there is very  many recipes that I make that don't use a wooden spoon at one time or another. They are great for getting up all those tasty brown bits when you deglaze your pan.

OXO 3-Piece Silicone Spatula Set
Just as important as my wooden spoons, these spatulas make an appearance for many many recipes. From my scrambled eggs in the AM, to getting every last bit of that cheese sauce for a yummy ac and cheese!

Bellemain Stainless Steel Lemon Squeezer
I finally broke down and bought a citrus squeezer and am soooo glad I did. No more sore hands, no more picking seeds out of my dish. Yay!!

Ozeri Pro Digital Kitchen Food Scale
Are you tired of guessing how many potatoes make 2 pounds, or how much 8 ounces of pasta really is? I decided that I didn't have to be a magician to cook, I just needed a good kitchen scale!

Narrow Stainless Steel Measuring Spoons
I have had quite a few sets of measuring spoons, but these are my fave. The narrow scoop makes it easy to get inside those jars that regular scoops can't get in to.

Oxo Softworks Box Grater
I have to admit that, even though I do love this grater, Kevin loves it more because 9 times out of 10 he is the one that does all of my grating for me.

Nordic Ware Aluminum Baker's Half Sheet
My baking sheets get quite a workout. From cookies, to meatloaf, and full dinners, I couldn't live without them!

Touchscreen Oven Meat Thermometer
When I talk about things I couldn't live without, this is definitely right up at the top of that list. Opening the door to the oven changes the temperature, and can mess with the cooking times of your foods. This takes that issue away, and make know what temp your food it sooooo dang simple!

OXO Good Grips Y Peeler
I know, you might think a peeler, is a peeler, is a peeler. But I am here to tell you that just isn't true. This fits your hand so well, and make peeling anything a breeze!

Microplane Zester/Grater
This handy dandy little tool gets quite the workout in my kitchen. From grating garlic, ginger, nut meg, and cinnamon, to zesting citrus to brighten up so many recipes. I will always have one.

OXO Good Grips 9-Inch Tongs
I have to be honest. I don't have a pair of these in my kitchen. I actually have 3 pairs of them! Kevin is always stealing them when he is grilling, so I keep a pair hidden for emergencies.

OXO Pepper Grinder
Nothing compares to fresh cracked black pepper in a recipe. Nuff said!

Oil Vinegar Cruet
I always have at least 2 different kids of oil to cook with. These cruets let me keep them close to the stove, without ugly bottles hanging around.

OXO Good Grips 3-Piece Mixing Bowl Set
I love these bowls, and they nest together to save on the small amount of space I have available in my teeny kitchen.

Micro-perforated Stainless Steel Colander
This colander is perfect for straining everything from potatoes, to orzo our couscous. Nothing falls through.

Cuisinart 7-Cup Food Processor
I have to be honest I totally  this food processor. I know there are tons of other brands out there, and some can process just about anything, but this has been my go-to food processor for years with zero complaints.

Cuisinart Immersion Blender
JUst like my food processor, this immersion blender is one of my BFFs, especially during soup season! But the jar is perfect for making a small batch of homemade salad dressing or aioli.

Müeller Spiral-Ultra 4-Blade Spiralizer, 8 in 1 Spiral Slicer
After so much thinking on which spiralizer I was going to buy, I went with this one and love it. Word of warning - the blades are sharp!! Use that guard!
