Slow Cooker Pumpkin BBQ Ribs

Slow Cooker Pumpkin BBQ Ribs - Pumpkin adds that touch of fall to this delicious slow cooker version of baby back ribs. From www.bobbiskozykitchen.com

Are you a pumpkin YAY or a pumpkin nay person?

I, obviously, am pro pumpkin    but that is not just because PSL is on everybody's lips right now. Nope, I have been a pumpkin lover since I was an itty bitty foodie.

But, before you get your nickers in a twist about pumpkin in your BBQ sauce, remember this.

Pumpkin is a squash, it is not sweet until you add sweetener to it.

You can not believe a number of people that have given me the stank face when I tell them I make pumpkin BBQ sauce!

Now, if you use pumpkin pie filling INSTEAD of pumpkin puree?

Oh, and while we are talking about pumpkin puree, have you tried making your own?

I know buying it is soooo much easier, but trust me, homemade is the way to go!! You wouldn't believe how easy it really is plus homemade tastes better, and has more nutrients.

Now, where were we?

Pumpkin, yay or nay, not sweet, make your own.

Oh ya, Pumpkin BBQ Sauce!

The thing about adding pumpkin is, it just kinda adds a depth of flavor to the sauce. Kind of an earthy flavor.

Maybe earthy isn't the best description? I don't want you to think "dirt" but it is kinda the best I've got right now.

The thing about this recipe that makes me uber happy is that I combine two of my fave things.

Pumpkin + BBQ sauce.

If you have followed me for very long, you know I am kinda obsessed with BBQ sauces. I have recipes on the blog for Classic BBQ Sauce, Blackberry BBQ Sauce, Korean BBQ Sauce, Alabama White BBQ Sauce, and Roasted Strawberry BBQ Sauce.

And those are just the ones I have on the blog!!

Kevin says I will try to make just about anything into a BBQ sauce

BUT

He isn't complaining

Still feeling like this is the Twighlight zone and Pumpkin BBQ sauce can't be a real thing?

Take it from Mini Me aka Miss Picky Pants.
