Hi gang! How is your September going?

Wait....Is it really already halfway through September?

Did I just blink and completely miss summer?

WOW! Now it is Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year!

But first, the biggest time of the year for many of you, back to school!

Has anyone run screaming from the room yet?

No?

Good!

I remember how hard it was to adjust to it every single year. You would think that I would have come up with some kind of routine, plan, something to help me not to feel like I was losing my mind.
But nope, I never did. I just flew by the seat of my pants for a bit until things somehow calmed down and I didn't feel like leaving the country and changing my name!

Now I don't have kids in school. My babies are 30 and 26.

OhhEmmmGeeee did I just say that?

Someone grab me a walker because I may just fall over!

Naaaaa, I am just kidding. There is a lot of life left in this girl. I am just getting warmed up!

One of the things that is awesome about having kiddos the age of mine is....

GRANDKIDS!!

Yes! And the apple of this Nana's eye is my little Kylee.

I know Y'all have heard me mention her a time or two (or 20,000) here on the blog.

She is such a sweet girl when she wants to be, but getting that girl to eat can be like pulling teeth!

She goes through phases of things she will and won't eat. We have had a mac and cheese phase, a pizza phase, and a spaghetti phase, just to name a few.

BUT the one phase that Nana can count on being there time and time again is her chicken nugget phase.

But not just any chicken nugget will do for this little Miss.

Nope!

Yup, the girl has good taste. She gets that from her Nana.

No seriously, she got these chicken nuggets from me and after that, they were the only ones she wanted to eat. Which made me all shades of happy because I love it when she loves good quality food.

I mean, have you seen some of the things that companies put into their food?

YIKES!!

That is just one of the reasons I fell in love with these chicken nuggets.
Foster Farm's equals quality to me.

These nuggets are 100% natural all white meat chicken, with no antibiotics or steroids.

So, like I said, the fact that my little munchkin turns her nose up to any other nuggets but these? Ya, that is awesome!

Another reason I like them?

They are uber convenient.

You can find them in just about any major retailers frozen food section so if I somehow forget to grab some, and the little one is going to be here, I can call Papa and he can stop to pick them up on his way home with no stress about having to search all over for them.

Searching makes Papa a grumpy bear.

Nothing brings home how convenient these nuggets are more than the fact that I broke my ankle, I mean shattered that bad boy. I had to have surgery and am in cast up to my knee for the next 3 months.

Even though I am on one foot, the show and the food must go on for little Miss Kylee, right?

Of course.

And, you have hungry kiddos that want a tasty afterschool snack that you can feel good about feeding them right?

Of course.

Plus this snack is fun to put together with the kids too.

There is really zero prep time if you get your veggies together while the nuggets are cooking.

Get the kids involved, Kylee loves that. She can easily make the cucumber flowers, even at 3, and the bigger kids could cut out the carrot stars since they are a little tougher.

One of the things I am learning is that kids are more likely to try/eat things that they have helped make. So, I let her put the nuggets on the sheet pan, pick out the carrot she wants, and the cucumber she wants then set her up with the cucumber slices and the flower cutter and away she goes.

I gotta say, it is a lot of fun, and quickly becoming one of Nana's favorite snacks too!

    1. Thank Jamie! Yes, I love that they are gluten free :) and using the different shapes makes it so much fun. I have even used them on melon and apples and pineapple.
